Product information

Pulsetto is a wearable neck device that stimulates the vagus nerve with gentle electrical pulses. You put it on, choose a programme in the app, and four minutes later you are done.

  • 4 min One session
  • 5 Programmes in the free app
  • 2 Sides of the neck
  • 7 days Battery on daily use
  • 2 years Warranty

How a session goes

  1. 1 Spread a little electrode gel on both sides of your neck, or straight onto the electrodes if you would rather not put it on your skin.
  2. 2 Rest the device around your neck, press the button to switch it on and let it pair with the app over Bluetooth.
  3. 3 Choose a programme — stress, sleep, anxiety, pain or burnout — and start it from the app.
  4. 4 Sit back for four minutes. A light tingling and small muscle twitches under the electrodes are normal, and they stop when the pulses do.

Why the neck

The vagus nerve is the main line between the brain and the internal organs. It carries the signals that slow the heart, ease blood pressure and move the body out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-digest.

On the neck that nerve runs closest to the skin, so Pulsetto sits there and stimulates both sides at once. Nothing is implanted and nothing is measured — the pulses simply reach the nerve through the skin.

In the app

  • Five programmes, free and unlimited: stress, sleep, anxiety, pain and burnout.
  • Premium adds four more — inflammation, gut health, head pain and a personal programme.
  • A sound library written for the device, plus guided breathing exercises.
  • Sleep and heart rate variability insights.
  • Connects to Apple Health, Garmin, Whoop and Oura.
  • Works offline, and new sessions arrive in the app rather than in new hardware.

Inside the box

  • Pulsetto neck device.
  • Electrode gel.
  • USB-C charging cable.
  • User manual.
  • The Pulsetto app for iOS and Android.

Good to know

  • Gel every session — it is what carries the pulse from the electrodes into the skin.
  • About a week of daily use per charge; an hour on the cable fills it.
  • It will not run while it is plugged in, which is deliberate.
  • One button: a short press starts it, three seconds switches it off, and it turns itself off if left idle.
  • If more than one person uses it, wipe it down between users and keep separate gel.
  • Some people notice a change within a few days, others after about a month of daily use.
  • Made in Lithuania.

What the studies show

  • Stress, anxiety and sleep. In a randomised, open-label study, four weeks of use improved depression, anxiety and sleep quality scores. Hair cortisol, a physical marker of stress, fell where both sides of the neck were stimulated and did not where only one side was.
  • Migraine. A six-week observational study reported around 40% fewer migraines and around 42% less pain intensity.
  • Bechterew’s disease. An open-label pilot reported less morning stiffness and clearly lower joint pain.
  • Sleep in everyday use. An analysis of wearable data from Pulsetto users in the United States tracked sleep changes over regular use.

Summaries of these studies are published by the manufacturer at pulsetto.tech. They are small studies, several of them run or supported by Pulsetto itself.

What it is not

  • Not a medical device. It is a general wellness product, not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition.
  • Not for active implants. It is not recommended alongside a pacemaker, a hearing implant or any other active electronic implant — ask your doctor first.
  • Not a replacement for treatment or medication. If you are being treated for a health condition, speak to your doctor before adding it.
